Deep Cleaning My Apartment Furniture

Posted by

introduction_to_spring_cleaning

Although I've lived in my apartment for less than two years, it recently needed a good cleaning. I entertain so frequently that the rug, upholstered furniture, and pillows showed signs of the many fun-filled parties and events.

I decided to call in some professional help.

Founded in 1886, Restoration by Costikyan is a leader in cleaning and carpet restoration. The Costikyans have maintained an incredible level of quality for well over 100 years -- offering a wide range of services including cleaning, restoring, installation, appraising, and custom-rug design.

I hired the Costikyans to clean my furniture and carpets and I cannot give them enough praise for the amazing work they did in my apartment.  I had stains galore and now there is no trace of any previous spills or mishaps.

I was so impressed with every aspect of the company's work. They were quick, fastidious, pleasant, and conscientious.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend my morning with Mr. Costikyan and his team and to learn first hand what it is that makes them the best in the business.

Decluttering for Spring

Posted by

Spring is the time of year when most of us think about getting our homes in order and getting rid of the excess.  Doing a seasonal inventory will help you make better use of the things you want to keep.

In addition to donating items, there other great options for getting rid of the things you no longer need.   Tag sales, online auctions, and consignment shops are perfect ways to recycle your goods and chances are there's someone who's looking for what you have to unload.  I also love the idea of holding an office or neighborhood swap.   It's a fun idea and great way to get together with friends.

I hope these ideas and tips help you with your spring declutter...

De-cluttering is an ongoing process and there are definitely hot spots where clutter tends to settle in quite easily.  These areas tend to be the ones in the home that get the most use, the entryway, closets, desk, the bathroom and kitchen.

Once you have these areas under control, try getting in the habit of doing these six tasks every day to help keep chaos at bay.

*Make the bed

*Return things to where they belong

*Sort the mail

*Clean up as you cook

*Wipe up spills while they're fresh

*Sweep the kitchen floor
