Obsessed: Thomas Paul

Nautical colors and imagery are so inspiring and there's something about them that just screams summer: waves, sunshine, sand between your toes and fresh seafood. Although this sunshine-y season is still a ways away, I'm already dreaming of summer vacation thanks to these designs from native New Yorker Thomas Paul. He has a degree in textiles from FIT and an incredible eye for design.

Starting with his own line of neckwear in the 1990s, his brand launched a collection of pillowcases in 2001. The collection has steadily expanded since then and now offers a number of home goods, including tablewear, stationery, and lamp shades.

Known for his bold colors and his enlarged animal graphic patterns, his work is incredibly eye-catching. I love these sea-creature-covered tea towels, bags, and pillows. Decisions, decisions!

Wall Clocks Worth a Look

Posted by

No matter whether you're a watch-wearer or gave one up long ago in favor of your cell phone, there's no denying the usefulness -- and charm -- of a substantial wall clock. They're a witty way to make a statement in any room, and it's easy to find options that aren't crazy expensive. (And, if you're creative, you can always make your own -- try one of my favorite tutorials). Here are a few I've got my eye on right now:

Souvenirs from Star Provisions

Posted by

On a recent trip to Atlanta, Martha and I stopped in at Star Provisions, a can't-miss local gem. Owned by Anne Quatrano and Clifford Harrison, the food-hall-style market is like a professional chef's pantry, stocked with the best supplies and gourmet goods around.

I've never left the shop empty-handed, and this time was no exception. I picked up three dozen of these tumblers (above) and have grand plans to use them as sake cups at a party.

Here, piles of artisan bread with handwritten labels -- rustic and mouthwatering, just like everything else in the store.

And here's a shot of the interior. Definitely go if you're in Atlanta!
