Get the Look of Luxemborg

The Luxembourg Gardens in the heart of Paris have a long history: Created by French royalty in the 17th century they're now an integral part of the modern Parisian's lifestyle. The expansive public park is punctuated by the historic Luxembourg palace but the chic metal furniture provided for lounging and people watching is decidedly modern.

Made in France, the Luxembourg collection by Fermob was inspired by the chairs originally commissioned for the park in 1923. In a bevy of bright colors, these aluminum outdoor pieces are an easy way to bring French sophistication to your outdoor. Click to see the full collection.

Mary McDonald: New Collections

Posted by

Aside from being one of the most sought after interior designers, a published author, and a TV personality on Bravo's Million Dollar Decorators, Mary McDonald also has inspiring new fabric and rug collections.

Mary McDonald

Her fabric and trims collection for Schumacher and her exciting rugs for Patterson, Flynn and Martin were influenced by some of her favorite female decorators: Nancy Lancaster, Madeleine Castaing, and Elsie de Wolfe. All that inspiration combined to create a collection that is both classic and whimsical, fun and fresh.

On My Radar: Desiron

Desiron's Frank Carfaro

In our constant pursuit of the new, we sometimes forget about time-tested classics. I recently rediscovered New York-based Desiron, which is a great source for chic, understated, handcrafted American pieces. This 15-year-old company started when Frank Carfaro, president and creative director, took a few pieces to the Columbus Circle Flea Market. He garnered custom orders, grew organically, and now the line is in showrooms all over the country.

Frank (above) knows his stuff: He's a third-generation ironsmith whose family hails from Turino, Italy. Everything is made in the U.S. and the New Jersey factory can be toured (you just have to make an appointment). And if you're looking for something to fit in an odd space with out-of-the-ordinary measurements, existing pieces can be altered to meet your request. The new catalog is gorgeously shot and printed on newsprint, creating a dreamy, nostalgic vibe.
