Dolce and Gabbana, Embellished Raffia Skirt, 2013 Runway, Sicily

When I noticed this stunning skirt designed by Dolce and Gabbana from their 2013 Runway Show in Sicily, I immediately felt inspired to create a paint palette using the rich, warm colors and pops of jewel tones. Combined, they'd make a fabulous palette for a sun room or other bright space.

The Martha Stewart Living paint palette line for Glidden line offers a vast array of fabulously fresh and vibrant colors to match any and all trends. Pick a base, such as Shortbread (MSL077), and add in pops of color like China Green Marble (MSL110) the vivid Terra Rose (MSL018), Crevecoeur (MSL249), and dynamic Hydrangea (MSL156). I would love to hear if you use any of these colors in your Spring and Summer projects!

Measuring on the Mind

It came to my attention recently that one of our Design Directors, Megan Oiler, passed out Poppin rulers to her entire team of designers as gifts after seeing one of their stylish and colorful tape dispensers on a colleague's desk. I noticed the neon colors on her desk while in an impromptu meeting, and was fascinated by them! Funky, bright colors can define personality and create a new energy at work. Each member of the team has a different color.

Cool and Calm Paint Palette

Spring officially started March 20 and it's time to freshen up your walls with a new palette. This season I am drawn to the sophisticated, pure, and slightly warmed Picket Fence white (MSL057), the color Ash Bark (MSL211), and the deep, nearly black Silhouette (MSL280).

Pops of more playful colors add contrast to these chic neutral palette. I like a cheery blue like Bluebird (MSL158) and a more traditional green, Salvia (MSL130), like in this Wedgewood-influenced room with blue tins and a green umbrella holder.

All of these colors and more, are available at The Home Depot in the Martha Stewart Living paint collection. I would love to hear if you use colors from the The Martha Stewart paint collection in your Spring projects!
