Not only is Alexa Hampton a friend of mine and a recent guest on my radio show, but she is also the author of a comprehensive new design book, "Decorating in Detail" ($50, Potter Style). The key to a cleverly designed room is detail -- in the fabrics, window treatments, lighting fixtures, accents and more. She does a fantastic job giving each of the seven homes profiled in this book a distinct personality through those very details.
