I had the great honor of interviewing renowned interior designer and architect Tom Scheerer on my radio show earlier this month. We got together to talk about his decades-long career and his first book, "Tom Scheerer Decorates," released by Vendome Press ($35) earlier this month.
A graduate of The Cooper Union, Scheerer has been working in New York city since 1985. His laid back, beachy style is punctuated by East Coast sophistication. He can mix high and low with ease and likes simple, classic fabrics like cotton and linen. I just want to move right in to many of the apartments and rooms featured in his book.
The New York Times style section did a great write-up on Scheerer's work in August. I love the photo above –– such a smart way to display an art collection. The cork board adds texture and versatility.
