Artist to Watch: Tommy Mitchell

Posted by

I discovered artist Tommy Mitchell's work while at the the NY Now Trade Show in August and to put it simply, I was floored. Mitchell takes tole, a technique for enameling and painting metal, to an entirely new level. In his studio in North Carolina, Mitchell sculpts copper and tin into intricate, realistic flower petals and paints or –– even better –– gilds them. As a flower enthusiast, I loved seeing different blooms delicately rendered in metal. True works of art, Mitchell's flowers are a stunning touch for any room and you never have to worry about watering them.

  • Very nice decors with neutral tones. It could look better with colors, but the way they look feels just right. Indeed, an applause for Tommy Mitchell.

  • Beautiful and inspiring!
