Now that September is almost upon us, I'd like to host one last summer gathering to celebrate the end of lazy days and summer Fridays. While looking for a little inspiration, I came across a new book by Susan Spungen, an author, cook, and food stylist who has done food styling for several films, including Julie & Julia and Eat, Pray, Love.
"What's a Hostess To Do?" is a foolproof book and makes entertaining look easy. With more than 300 inspiring ideas, as well as 121 recipes for party-appropriate dishes, the book is full of tips for shaking up my usual party planning routine. The book covers choosing the perfect hors d'oeuvres, what kind of salt to serve, how to find the best cheese, and even how to maximize your fridge space when you're planning for a large number of guests.
Aside from all of the great material inside, "What's a Hostess To Do?" features amazing images of all the delicious-looking recipes Spungen suggests. I definitely want to try the Make-Ahead Chocolate Souffles –– they look amazing!
Pick up a copy here and plan the perfect end-of-summer soiree!
