Italy Pt. 1: My Favorite Place

Posted by

I recently returned from a two week-long trip to Italy to spend time with my godsons, eat amazing food, and relax. Every day this week I'll be sharing a snippet from my trip –– I even found an Italy themed book for On My Bookshelf!

If someone were to ask me where I am happiest most, I have two quick answers –– Skylands and Bagno Costanza in Forte dei Marmi, Italy. Costanza is the beach club where I spend two weeks every summer with my two godsons, ages 3 and 5. I recently returned from my annual trip, and I'm so excited to share some highlights here. Without question, Forte dei Marmi has some of the best food in Italy - I can't get enough of it. I relish every moment there and suffer major separation anxiety every time I leave.

  • Yesterday I watched all the video collection from bartending basics, also including recipe for Aperol Spritz. I never have this drink before. In the magazine Martha Stewart Living, June 2013 on page 2 noted that Aperol Spritz is Martha favorite summer drink.

  • Thank you, I adore researching new places to visit in Italy.Next trip(hopefully next year) we intend to "park" ourselves and not run from spot to spot... your bike looks like the perfect method of transportation
    Cheers!

  • This looks heavenly Kev! Also was so happy Martha posted your fabulous arrangements at Skylands. I LOVE Skylands! Love everything about it. The more detail posted the better. Love the terrain, the granite, the windows, the plants, the door knobs, the history, well everything and I look at every picture multiple times to not miss anything. It was so fun to see the old chapel at Skylands. It was the first time I have ever seen pictures of it. I also think you are one of the few people who would actually preserve Skylands as well as Martha! Out of everything Martha has done over all the many years I still never tire of seeing her beautiful homes, her farm and the many unique things she has collected throughout her life. How wonderful to be such a dear friend to her and Alexis. You are the best Kev!
