Rachel Ashwell has been the go-to expert on decorating with thrifted pieces since 1989, when she opened her first boutique in Santa Monica. Her name is almost synonymous with the term Shabby Chic, and in the past 24 years, she has wowed celebrities, designers, and amateur decorators alike with her ability to turn dusty flea-market finds into stylish home decor. I recently picked up a copy of her newest book, Shabby Chic: Treasure Hunting & Decorating Guide, and I'm already impressed with the information and great tips about mixing both new and used items in the home. She even goes into detail about her personal process when scouring second hand shops and flea markets, and gives great advice about spotting a great buy in a sea of used pieces.
Of course I'm always impressed by colors and vibrant images included in books, and this one did not disappoint.
