On My Bookshelf: Table Settings

Although food typically takes center stage at dinner parties the well known French interior designer Alberto Pinto's, incredibly scrumptious table settings tended to steal the spotlight. Playfully rejecting convention and de-emphasizing the seriousness of table dressing, Pinto's designs gave life to the entire dining atmosphere.

His book, Table Settings, showcases some of his signature styled tables. Working with diningware from Chanel and Dior to antique China, and even pulling from his private collections, Pinto created vibrant, whimsical tables, often in less than 15 minutes.

One can only imagine what it would have been like to sit at one of his tables for an evening.
