When I'm shopping on 5th Avenue, I always take a few moments to linger at the windows of Bergdorf Goodman. In these tall, skinny spaces, the visual geniuses at Bergdorf's create surreal works of art week after week. The displays change regularly and each time they push the boundaries of what you thought was possible before. Something has to be pretty jaw-dropping if it's going to stop busy New Yorkers in their tracks. Even though they seem to epitomize luxury – what with the designer fashions and extravagant displays – they're free for the crowds from all walks of life that pass by. A massive tome, released by Assouline in December, celebrates the best displays through the years, freezing the ever-changing displays for a brief moment.

Dear Kevin,
Watching Martha in Australia this morning and you were being dined at a very beautiful restaurant in Istanbul, it looked devine.
