I'm posting the photo above as a post-holiday confession: even after years of working at Martha Stewart, I don't always follow our excellent homekeeping and organizing advice to the letter. This year, I just threw my ornaments in plastic bins -- a definite "don't" according to Martha.
My philosophy has been that if they last through this type of storage then these ornaments were meant for the following year. But for those of you with loftier ambitions than mine, don't miss our ingenious solution for organizing ornaments.
How do you pack up your decorations?

Hi Kevin, it is interesting to know. My princess loves Juicy couture's handbags, I love their pink gift boxes so I store my ornaments in them with their pink tissue papers, here is a photo from last years packing. http://twitpic.com/bpnfz2

I use the boxes the ornaments came in when it comes to glass round ornaments. It's green and easy.

Well, I do the same. Put them in a large tub, like you do. Those that survive I use the next year. There is very little damage. All they do it sit on the shelf.

LOL! Yes, despite the great advice I receive from various MSLO outlets, year after year I tend to gently toss my ornaments into plastic bins. So far I haven't had any casualties. (Knock on wood!)
