On My Bookshelf: "Soiree" by Danielle Rollins

Posted by

In her beautiful new coffee table book, “Soirée” ($50, Rizzoli), Danielle Rollins spills all her secrets on how to throw a classic party.  I found it impossible to look through the pages upon pages of gorgeous photos without wondering when my invitation had gotten lost in the mail.  Rollins touches upon each aspect of party planning, and describes her “essence of entertaining:” from setting the mood with invitations through making sure each guest is happy upon departure.  As she breaks down each different type of expertly planned gathering, Danielle shares her menu, with recipes and cocktails that I’m dying to try.

A Dallas native, Rollins’ “more is more” aesthetic comes through with a tasteful, playful vibe.  Her own Atlanta home makes for an unbelievable setting, which makes the parties all the more inviting and comfortable, even with fabulous guests like Oscar de la Renta and Rachel Roy.
