Even though the temperature hasn't dropped in New York, yesterday's downpour had me feeling all sorts of fall inspiration -- and this bottle of grade A medium amber maple syrup is first on my list.

Best Made's "Big Jug" of Pure Organic Maple Syrup
I've been a fan of the Best Made Company since I first discovered owner and graphic designer Peter Buchanan-Smith's incredible "urban" axes a few years ago, and was so happy when he expanded his product line in 2010. Dedicated to small local artisans and using mostly domestic-made materials, the site is a treasure trove of items that are as beautiful as they are streamlined and useful (check out these letterpressed cards, these camping cups, and these flags).
The syrup comes from a 60-year-old family owned New Hampshire sugar shack that uses renewable energy, biodiesel, and sustainably harvested firewood. It's good-looking enough to put on display, and would be such a thoughtful present for weekend hosts on September getaways.

I would only buy Grade B Maple Syrup. Grade A is like water once you try Grade B.

sorry,...but the best Maple syrup is produced in Quebec...85% of the world's production as a matter of fact.....check out Martin Picard's gorgeous Book: Cabane a sucre au Pied de cochon...Then you could highlight it one Friday...
Sweetest regards

Lovely picture, will have to check out the items on Best Made Co. website, sounds promising. Huge supporter of local products, let's hear it for New England cottage industries.
