During my recent trip to Italy, I visited Villa del Balbianello on the western shores of Lake Como. The complex, which was commissioned by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini, was built at the end of the 18th century. The villa is surrounded by a breathtaking gardens and it's filled with lovely Italian artifacts. Take a look at what caught my eye while I was there.

My favorite little travel companion, my godson Massimo, walking through the gardens. Isn't he cute?

Such great photos. You & Martha both are great photographers. And I'm definitely putting that on my bucket list of places I want to visit.

Kevin, you are an amazing photographer too with excellent composition! I love all the photos you posted from this Villa. I love the lampshade and the photo of the little boy among a bed of hydrangea bushes in bloom.

... and it was the location for "A Month by the Lake" with Maggie Smith. While looking at your beautiful pictures it reminded me of the movie and I looked it up.
