Yesterday, more than 100 design and lifestyle bloggers descended on our offices for the Alt Design Summit. The energy in the room was incredible.
Gabrielle Blair from DesignMom introduced me, Pilar, and Lucinda for a panel about the creative process. She told a very sweet story about studying the first issue of Martha Stewart Living as a young design student, and how it has set the bar for her standard of design ever since.
We talked about how exciting it is to see how our work in print magazines inspires the work of bloggers. And, in turn, how the looser, more natural aesthetic of style and design blogs has inspired our photography and styling. We're all learning from one another!
To cap off the event, we headed to our roof deck for a fabulous, colorful cocktail party. Everyone was dressed in their color-blocked best.
I surveyed the scene.
Editor-in-chief of the shelter blog Grassroots Modern Creede Fitch coordinated a teal tie with salmon pants.
Party goer Katie Harrington, PR lead for Land of Nod, took in the view and captured it with her iPad. Typical blogger behavior!
A tower of cheesy snacks and a bucket of chilled wines greeted guests.

It was great visiting Martha Stewart headquarters. Thanks for having us, and for noticing my bow tie.
