East Hampton is one of my favorite summertime destinations and I recently spent a few days there with Martha. The transportation mode du jour is bike riding, which suits me just fine since I don't have a driver's license. Here are a few of my favorite moments ...

Me, Martha, and Lisa Wagner -- ready to hit the road!

Aside from an enviable collection of majestic trees, East Hampton is home to some of the most beautiful hydrangeas I've ever seen

Dinner was served on the porch, with green Faux bois tablecloths and vases of late summer roses.

The most delicious fruit tarts you could ever imagine.

My namesake: Sharkey, the French bulldog-in-residence.

Martha has one of -- if not the -- most beautiful pool lounging areas.

Every year she chooses to paint her pots differently. They never cease to enchant and inspire.

Martha's shade garden
Sigh. It's hard to believe summer's almost over ...

Impressive, I love the thought of painting that pot differently each year. I wish you took a proper shot of the pool though!
