It’s hard to miss the neon accents popping up all over the place lately—including my July column all about seersucker. The grosgrain ribbon trim on the seersucker pillow sleeve project adds a pop of neon to an otherwise neutral palette. From nails to bags, fluorescent orange, pink, yellow and, green brighten up any look. The electric colors can have the same effect when subtly incorporated into home décor.

A pop of pink becomes a focal point in the smoky gray living room of Gemma Ahern.

Painting the knobs on a rustic cabinet a corally neon pink updates the piece.

A traditional four-poster bed goes from stuffy to stylish with a coat of lime green paint.

Fluorescent orange is balanced by natural wood in the home of Norwegian ceramic designer Silje Aune Eriksen.

Love your pillows, Kevin. They go very well with the modern, neutral interior and don't make it look cluttered. Very nice and so easy to do.
