They might seem like an odd couple, but smoky gray and poppy yellow is an “opposites attract” kind of pairing. When put together they highlight each other’s strengths—the yellow bringing out warm tones in the gray and the gray pleasantly mellowing the yellow. That top room is so beautiful--I am going to commence seeking out that gray wall color immediately. I have always used yellow sparingly because I am worried I will accidentally create a child's playroom effect, but it looks cheery and sophisticated at the same time with gray. Do tell if you have a recommendation for where to find that perfect wall color!

I love grey and yellow together. the bottom image is my favorite. we painted our bedroom a neutral grey, and it pulls out the yellow in our wood trim (http://www.lifeonchurchill.com/2011/11/lovely-grey.html )
