To update the bedroom for summer, select colors that evoke the lightness of spring and summer, such as pinks and yellows. Fanciful details that won’t overwhelm include ticking stripes, casual embroidery, and delicate lacework.

Simple arrangements of fresh blooms are welcoming. Don’t worry about putting everything away. Jewelry and other pretty, personal items add relatively relaxed style.

Do away with the extra layers. Clean and store comforters and pillows, as well as the dust ruffle. Cool cotton fabrics are best for sheets. The resulting pared-down bed, however, doesn’t need to be boring. Consider playful hues and patterns, such as stripes or scattered blooms. A summer-weight silk quilt folded at the foot of the bed keeps it feeling dressed and can be used when summer nights cool down.

Pillows and throws are versatile and inexpensive, so be adventurous and look for those that come in splashier colors.

I have an idea for bedding that I have been thinking about for some time and talked to various people about they all feel it is a good idea but if you should happen to think the same way, I would like to know that I would get some form of credit for the idea. Please let me know how I can share this idea with you in a more private way Thank you Kathy Burgess

These ideas are great, although I've always been more keen on summer brights than pastels. I love the idea of mixing green and pink (as per the photos), possibly with a touch of yellow to represent the summer sun!
