This week, I’m thrilled to share with you Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan’s new book, Apartment Therapy’s Big Book of Small, Cool Spaces. Maxwell is the founder of Apartment Therapy, a home design site, of which I’m a huge fan. The book features some fabulous ideas for furnishing small spaces. Below are some of my favorites.
1 The book's cover illustrates just how much you can organize into a small space with some careful though and planning.
2 I really like the look of these mirror tiles and their irregularities when fitted together. Mirror tiles are a great option in stead of installing one large mirror in a space. They're inexpensive and still add interest and light to a space.
3 I love a long, low sofa in the living room. The bold colors and patterns of the pillows look great with the neutral tones. The side table is actually a stool that was cut to work with the height of the sofa. So smart!
4 This living room's space is small but the neutral palette and furniture placement prevent it from feeling overwhelming. The pattern on the rug is great.
5 These black marble floor tiles from The Home Depot make a great and easy to clean backsplash. The open shelving stocked with tools and supplies looks great against the dark tile.
6 I really like the idea of tucking a small office into a closet. It's such a space saver. The bright yellow trim and vintage fabric are fun touches.
