Three things come to mind when I think about Valentine’s Day: romance, chocolate, and flowers. Of course, it’s hard to go terribly wrong with chocolate, and you're on your own with the romance. But I can help you out with all things floral. Creating the perfect arrangement is admittedly no easy task, but sometimes all you need is a bit of inspiration. Here are a few great ideas we've used over the years.
1 Paper conversation hearts, string, a bit of wire and the bouquet of your choice are all it takes to create this sweet arrangement.
2 These small flowers take on a larger presence when they're arranged together to form a heart.
3 Dahlia blossoms in a Valentine's color scheme make for a simple and pretty centerpiece. Stagger them with bowls of varying heights.
4 The contrast between pale pink and bright red in this floral tablescape will wow your guests. Calm, delicate pinks can actually serve to highlight more passionate bold accents.
5 Wrap your vase to look like a box of chocolate for an especially delectable centerpiece.
6 Play up the sweetness of the day with candy-based arrangements.
7 Try using carnations, mums, and hyacinths in soothing shades for this floating centerpiece.
8 Arrange roses in the shape of a heart for a romantic centerpiece by cutting their stems short.
9 This arrangement speaks for itself. Pastel candy hearts pair nicely with tulips in complementary colors.
10 Slender vases allow individual blooms to show off their own beauty. Make sure to vary the length of the flowers you select.
11 Jazz up a simple bouquet of red roses with a coat of glitter in a matching color. They’ll look even more fabulous surrounded by candlelight.
12 Light up your centerpieces by resting amaryllis blooms in bowls around your candles.
13 I love the informal feeling of these floating magnolia blossoms.
14 Contrary to popular belief, you don't always need long stems on your roses. These ones sit nicely together in a low bowl.
15 Roses in a ribbon box make a beautiful hostess gift.
