Living Desk: Naomi de Manana
Posted by Kevin Sharkey
This time we’re taking a trip across the office to Martha Stewart Weddings to visit Naomi de Manana, Associate Style Editor.
As resident flower and registry expert, Naomi has a sweet spot for all things floral. Her desk is not only covered in stunning flowers, both fresh and faux, but she’s also amassed a collection of beautiful full-color flower images. Check out the fabulous gallery below and learn the secrets of a well-designed desk from Naomi herself.
My desk surrounds me with inspiration. Vibrant images, zany odds-and-ends, and brilliantly-colored flowers abound.
Another view of the desk. Though it seems I've got quite a bit going on, each and every trinket has its purpose. Functionality and aesthetic value are equally important in this creative environment!
Hints of floral imagery decorate my bulletin board, echoing the colorful blossoms on my desk.
A snippet of my typical desktop goings-on. It's obvious that my eclectic desk reflects the work I do!
The layered paper beneath my computer mouse is complemented by the decorative rock behind it. Technology can be a great starting point for creative decor.
I find so much inspiration in fresh flowers. Currently, I'm loving the sweet simplicity of these ones.
My iPhone rests on this simple painted wooden circle.
Who says eye-candy can't be useful? I love the fanciful designs on this journal.
One of my favorite vases is used to house these pink flowers. True old-fashioned charm.
Florals provide these images with a 3-D aspect that makes them come alive.
Gorgeous fake butterflies are another 3-D option. The larger image paired with the smaller blue card lends a spontaneous pop to the scene.
A stunning, ethereal photograph like the one in the center contrasts here with more fun, lighthearted images.
I just couldn't shy away from this royal red.
Ladurée dragées are such a treat, and I smile every time I see the pretty packaging on my desk.
More decorated boxes. So much can be done to spruce up basic office necessities.
And here's the best example of that! These vintage office supply boxes are one of my favorite finds.
This foghorn was supposed to be used at a real wedding I helped to plan. I'm happy to have it for myself!
Fun photos of friends and family make this space my own.
A few more photos.
My scarves collection brings a boost of color and energy to the desk. I collect vintage scarves.
