Caravane was founded in 1995 by Françoise Dorget. I loved exploring Françoise's store, which is dedicated to the urban, cosmopolitan shopper. Her textiles are derived from the far reaches of India and Africa, where she and her team travels for inspiration. Here is a look at what I found at the shop.
The store manager could not have been more warm and welcoming. She is the sort of Parisienne that you read about who just exudes chic.
The tableclothes and napkins were just amazing. They were piece dyed and then sewn together. They would be perfect for Martha's home in East Hampton.
I picked up a dozen of these napkins for myself. There was no way that I could leave without taking a little bit of Caravane with me.
These ceramic fish are handmade and each one is different. It was really, really hard for me to not take one of these home.
