Traditional Now: Interiors by David Kleinberg (The Monacelli Press) is a book that recently came across my desk and caught my eye. I appreciate interior decorator David Kleinberg's ability to balance the modern and classic elements of design. Each room in this book contains a thoughtful approach to decorating that is elegant and refined.
1 This staircase features an artfully-designed cast-bronze railing. Artist Bill Sullivan contributed to the design.
2 To emulate an older look, Kleinberg finished new pine paneling in the library with a stain that gave it a worn appearance.
3 High-quality English and American antiques and custom upholstery contribute to the atmosphere of this cabin at the Alotian Golf Club in Little Rock, Arkansas.
5 This modern kitchen is at the heart of a home built in the 1800s. Just look at those wide-plank floors—stunning!
6 A mix of modern and traditional patterns and shapes makes this Park Avenue sitting room quintessentially New York.
7 Inside this barn-turned-pool house features polished cement floors and steel and glass siding doors.

“Beauty meets quality of life.” Modern, yet sophisticated in its sensibility.
