David Hicks, the extroverted British designer whose career took off in 1950s, has always been a muse of mine. I love his innovative mix of classic patterns. This week I dusted off an older book that encompasses Hicks' life's work—David Hicks: Designer (Scriptium Editions). I hope you enjoy the images from this book as much as I do. Have a great weekend!
The carpet was made to a Hicks design at Cogolin, while the sofas are covered in one of his first, small-repeat geometric fabrics.
David Hicks' bedroom, with emerald-green-and-white carpet made to a Hicks design by Tai Ping in Hong Kong.
A London drawing room. The beige batik-covered drinks table and the snakeskin Parsons table blend perfectly with the walls.
A stately room hung with pink cotton and furnished with dark wood appeals to both feminine and masculine tastes.
