On Thursday night last week, Martha's friends and colleagues gathered on the seventh-floor at Bergdorf Goodman to celebrate the launch of her new book, Martha's Entertaining, A Year of Celebrations. The event took place in BG, the store's restaurant designed by Kelly Wearstler, which features seriously elegant and whimsical decorations that were as much draw as the company and cuisine. The evening was a smash-hit, complete with incredible hors d'oeuvres by Chef Pierre Schaedelin of PS Tailored Events; I wanted to share some pictures with you. Enjoy!
Welcome to Martha's Book launch party! The evening couldn't have been more fitting for the celebration, with divine food, drinks, and a gorgeous space.
My colleague, Decorating and Home Editor Rebecca Robertson, and Jean Graham, Director of Community Relations, looking stunning despite the torrential rain outside.
The food at this event was all prepared by our dear Chef Pierre Schaedelin, who worked under allstar chefs Paul Haeberlin and Alain Ducasse before teaming up with Martha.
More of my colleagues enjoying the festivities. Ellen Morrissey who is the VP Editorial Director of Books at MSLO, former employee Suzanne McGrath, her husband, and Fritz Karch.
Mirrored walls in BG, the seventh-floor restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman, kept the space bright and glittery even in the evening. Drinks flowed in celebratory style.
This spindly chandelier gave distinct modernness to the historically-minded yet cosmopolitan space. The whole restaurant was designed by the fabulous Kelly Wearstler, who is known for her ability to harmonize luxe and playful.
The architectural wall detailing in the entry room (to the right) is exquisite, and Kelly outdid herself in making sure that each room led gracefully into the next.
