A few weeks ago, decorative arts dealer Liz O'Brien hosted an evening soirée in her edgy and expansive east side storefront to promote the debut of her new furniture line Editions.

Invitation to the Editions Debut
For more than 20 years Liz O'Brien has been seeking out unique and fascinating pieces from the 1940's - 1970's, and the unveiling of her new collection was a polished ode to those years of incredible design. Bright fall hues adorned a selection of sofas, chairs and ottomans, in addition to some glossy occasion tables I absolutely adored. Here's a selection of images from the opening. Let me know what you think!
1 Welcome to the opening! The design on this table is actually real fabric sealed under a glossy coating.
8 Isn't this little couch so sensual? The curves and hand-carved wood are almost regal in that mauve-y hue.
22 This neo-baroque fabulous violet sofa is such a burst of lively color against that gemstone wall art.
29 The brightly colored chairs pop against a navy background, while the wood details keep everything grounded.
Liz is known for introducing works of genius by masters like Samuel Marx, William Haines, and Karl Springer at her old 5th Avenue store, which she left to plant roots in this building full of well-established design colleagues. I love how Liz works autumnal colors and vintage designs into a bright, modern collection of pieces. Enjoy these photographs of Liz's storefront and interior as captured by 1st Dibs.
1 Liz's collections truly reflect this statement. Her personal style is truly revealed through every piece she represents.
2 The new store exterior; this image captures the positive energy that reverberates from her collections.
3 The punch of purples in this room speaks to Liz's bold flavor. I love the crisp white shelving and the subtle animal print on that coffee table.
4 More distinctive patterns and an example of symmetry at its best. The clean lines on the two blue chairs are statement-making.
6 How invigorating is all this orange next to that sultry tri-fold screen? These brights are just irreverent enough to spunk up, but not overpower, its cool dusky tones.
7 Quirky blue gourd vases glamorize a clean wooden table. In turn, its hard edges allow all the curves in this image to really shine.
