Posted by

It's a new month and that means another visit to another fantastic work space here at Martha Stewart Living...

This time its my colleague and good friend, Kate Berry. As Style Director, Katie is responsible for the breathtaking images that grace Martha Stewart Living Weddings.

In between preparing for upcoming shoots and her many bridal industry appointments, Kate was kind enough to show us around her desk...

Welcome to my desk. As you can tell right away, I am most inspired by color and photography.

Luckily, you've caught my desk at a particularly neat time.

My desk walls are covered with my favorite images including a painting by Gerhard Richter (image of girl turned back in red and white coat).

I love the image of Bjork in the upper left-hand corner. The peach is from my friend Claudia's store, Bell'occhio, in San Francisco.

Nature is such a huge part of my work. I usually have flowers in these egg vases from Ted Muehling.

My friend Matt is an artist from San Francisco who made this cool measuring tape spool. Behind the spool are just some images of scarves that I adore.

I recently inherited this from a former colleague's desk. It's just samples of wicker but I think it is really lovely.

Because weddings involve so many areas of our company...fashion, art, decor, crafts, entertaining, I tend to have a lot of snippets of things that I have loved over the years. Ribbon, bright boxes, ring boxes, even candy wrappers...they are all inspiring.

Because stationary is such a huge part of weddings, I am constantly reviewing different paper, correspondence cards, etc. These boxes once held place cards.

I kept these boxes that once held wedding stationary because of their color and beautiful illustrations.

The squirrel paperweight was a gift from a friend. The sphere is from Lalique. My favorite pens are Hi-Tec. They are made in Japan and are super fine.

My mouse pad is a piece of leather that I have had for many years. It was a gift from a former colleague. She recently came in for a visit and couldn't believe I still had it.

  • What a fantastic desk! I would love to have so many pretty objects, but my desk holds paper and pens and envelopes and there just doesn't seem to be the room. You are so lucky. Thanks for showing us your desk Kate.

  • I love, love, love the desk blog posts....could they be weekly? Or maybe a magazine issue with them compiled...or a magazine highlighting personal spaces...can I come work for you??? Thanks for all the inspiration.
    Peace and Blessings
