Throw an Outdoor Movie Party!

Posted by

Now that you've properly settled into summer and created an outdoor living space for your home, it's time to make good use of it.

One of my favorite entertaining ideas for summer is to host an outdoor film screening. It's an idea that is super easy to pull off. The first step is to get a portable projector. There are a lot on the market to choose from. I like this portable white model by Optoma.

For the screen, a simple, inexpensive white sheet will do.  Then, pop some popcorn, pull out some chairs and blankets, and you've got a fun and memorable summer party.

  • My brother does this all the time & he's found that a canvas drop cloth makes the best screen. He also has a rule that he only plays PG-13 or lower ratings because his neighbors can see the screen and there are kids who live on his street.

  • A projector and a laptop were my best investments ever. Who needs a massive TV when you can feel at the flicks every night?
