Just as your house needs certain essentials to keep it running smoothly... a tool box, light bulbs, batteries, etc...a summer house or vacation rental home should have certain essentials for the season.
In anticipation of summer's first long weekend, here are some of the things I will have on hand for fun and leisurely summer days and nights away.
1 These fish soaps on a rope are just right for that outdoor shower that gets so much use. (chanceco.com)
2 Acrylic pitchers are perfect for a home with a pool -- this one can be monogrammed. (themonogramexpress.com)
3 This chalkboard set is ideal for any bustling summer house. You can use it to make out farmers' market lists or write messages to guests. (brookfarmgeneralstore.com)
4 A case of wine is a must-have for summer dinners. It's the perfect time of year for rose. (Pasanellaandson.com)
5 Coasters with a nautical theme are a way to add some chic color to a beach rental. (lekkerhome.com)
6 Pack your own luxurious and crisp sheets and you will sleep even better on weekends. Martha Stewart Collection for Macys. (macys.com)
8 Crisp, graphic napkins upgrade the usual paper fare at a summer cottage. (robertarollerrabbit.com)
14 Weekend houses tend to be short on serveware. This oblong stoneware dish can be used for everything from bagels to fresh grilled vegetables. (shopterrain.com)
15 Why not make breakfast an event? This pretty milk carton made of porcelain is decorated with Delft Blue flowers. (lekkerhome.com)
16 This beach towel is a playful wink at an important summer rule, "never forget the sunscreen." (chanceco.com)

Wow summer is so close your post looks so fresh. I am sure your summer will be exciting and adventurous. Going to Lebanon mid June can't wait to spend time in our house in the mountains and spend some time in Beirut to finish the new apartment, and later on to Europe, busy summer.
Best of luck.
