Cinco de Mayo is one of the liveliest and most colorful celebrations of the year.
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Battle of Puebla, a conflict in which the Mexican army claimed an unlikely victory over the French.
Today, the holiday has become and occasion to honor Mexican culture and heritage.
This year, I was inspired to create a Cinco de Mayo party menu with some of Martha Stewart Living's most delicious (not to mention beautiful) drinks and dishes.
The vibrant heritage of Mexico's interiors is also worthy of celebration. So I had to include some decor that will hopefully transport you.
Here's my salute to May 5. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I've been into a wedding where succulents were the party favors. I thought it was unique - not too many people can think of it. PLUS, it can be added to your plant collection.

I love Mexican food! Did you know that filled taco shells are the currently most eaten friday/saturday night dinner here in Norway? We also eat lots of potatoes (the potato is kind of a symbol of the Norwegian side dish), tomatoes, avocadoes, corn, chocolate +++ that we have adopted from America. Thank you!
And interesting to get style inspiration from South American culture - this was new to me. But beautiful!
