My favorite bookstore just so happens to be in the West Village -- the same neighborhood I live in. BookMarc, the Marc Jacobs book store, is an intimate shop that organizes their books by category. Book themes include: fashion, photography, music, art, interior design and the newest category of books was added to the shop last week -- cooking.
The books in the store are picked out by the Marc Jacobs buyer -- you can see her photograph in a book called The Men and Women of Marc Jacobs (it can only be bought at BookMarc and you can find pictures of Marc Jacobs employees around the world throughout the glossy pages of the book).
Some beautiful vintage books can be found displayed throughout the shop as well.
I also love that the store has small useful accessories such as colored pencils, notebooks, bags (perfect to put books in), wallets, and other items you may want to have in your home library.
BookMarc's location is 400 Bleecker Street in New York City -- a trendy and chic location to go shopping when you are in Manhattan. On the same street are other Marc Jacobs stores: Marc By Marc Jacobs Womens Ready-To-Wear, Accessories and Shoes, Marc Jacobs Collection Accessories, and Little Marc Jacobs.
Take a look inside my favorite book store in New York City...
2 Another view from the outside of BookMarc -- you can see the snow starting to fall! BookMarc is located at 400 Bleecker Street in Manhattan.
3 The shop has a variety of vintage books. They are displayed around the store, not just in one location.
10 A table in the front of the store has many small accessories from wallets to color pencils, to key chains and notebooks. I love the swinging stools below the table.
14 As Always, Julia -- a collection of letters exchanged between Julia Child and her friend Avis Devoto.
17 The Men + Women of Marc Jacobs is a book only available at BookMarc. It's a collection of beautiful photographs of Marc Jacobs employees around the world.
