Do you have that one special shop that you go to for inspiration? It’s a
place where you will see the most unusual and gorgeous objet d’art that no
one else will have, and a destination for the best of the best that inspires
Mine is de Vera, a quirky, eccentric and divine little shop on Crosby
Street, in Soho. The rare objects from around the work are displayed more
like a museum than retail space, and I am always in awe of the merchandise.
The dark walls and eclectic mix make me feel like I could stumble upon
anything from a Renaissance pendant to a Greco-Roman statue. From jewelry to
books, art to furniture, proprietor Federico de Vera expresses a refined
vision in what he chooses to show at the shop.
This is a must-stop for Manhattan visitors and, I hear his San Francisco
shop on Maiden Lane is just as divine.
