On Wednesday night, TASCHEN SoHo held a book signing for Walton Ford's popular new edition of Pancha Tantra. One-hundred lucky people gathered at the store on Greene St, where they sipped on wine, browsed TASCHEN's vast collection of books, and had their editions signed with a personal illustration by Ford.
It was a pleasure to get my very own copy signed by the artist himself. As many of you know from a previous post I have always loved TASCHEN's books, but Pancha Tantra is my favorite yet. The book is a complete catalog of Ford's stunning watercolors, which depict wild animals with human psychological traits (e.g. baboons drinking from champagne flutes). I really admire his work for its naturalist style and complex narratives - it is truly a breath of fresh air and an inspiration. As soon as my apartment is set up, this book will be displayed proudly in the center of my living room for guests to leaf through.
Thanks to Walton and the wonderful TASCHEN offices for hosting such a lovely event!
